Black Hills Energy needed to update their operator console furniture and utilize LCD displays at their facility in Las Vegas, NV. The customer wanted a large "U" shaped configuration of AbleVIEW ® Series tables in this application. The desired configuration was easily obtained with our standard modular components; there was no need for "custom sized" tables.  Since the CPU's for their process control were to be located remotely from the operator consoles, cabinets were not required under control room console furniture. However, operators needed space for storing keyboards, so pull-out style keyboard storage trays (with wrist rests) were provided.

Another requirement in this control console application was the need for a variety of quad and double flat panel desk mounts. We recommended Ergotron Freestanding DeskStands with Quad & Double Pivot Monitor Mounts. These Ergotron DS100 Series LCD mounts were utilized to give the operators optimum visibility into both their process control screens, as well as the old control boards that were retained during the control room upgrade.  To insure the installation went smoothly, and that all components would easily fit into the available floor space, an AutoCAD layout drawing of both the console furniture and the control room floor plan were provided with our proposal.
