Basic American Foods processes potatoes into food products. ImageVision industrial computer consoles were used in the upgrade of their control room. The customer wanted a long lasting, rugged, all steel computer console suitable for 24/7 operation. Our modular computer furniture houses the process control system computers, data acquisition system, servers, security system, and other computer equipment. The entire computer console was approximately 20’ long. It was configured from (3) 48” two-tier modular console units with 15 degree angles, and a 60” two-tier unit on the end of the line up.
 The security console end section, has a custom height 2nd tier housing with cut-outs and mounting brackets for 12 process monitoring and security system 9” CRT’s. The 1st tier housing, part of the security system console had a blank panel to mount 3 additional 9” CCTV monitors and 15 pushbuttons.
The process control portion of the computer console has two tiers. The lower tier was supplied with exact cutouts for six panel mounted touch screen monitors to display the operator interface software. This is a standard service we offer at no additional charge for customer convenience. This insures the field installation of control equipment is less time consuming and has a professional “finished appearance”. The upper tier scada system has 21” CRT’s that are visible through optically coated glass. Optically coated glass is a standard ergonomic feature of ImageVision console furniture. While it costs us more to supply than typical safety glass, it significantly reduces external glare, and provides increased operator comfort and improved operator efficiency.
